Termite Q&A
How did I get termites!?
Above all termites are attracted to moisture, and wood is secondary. Usually what happens is a home has a small water leak first, the termites are attracted to that, then they figure “hey as long as we’re here might as well help ourselves to the wood!” and they begin eating on your home. Another common issue is firewood piles being placed too closely to a home, and if the firewood has termites the home will then get termites in short order. Lastly, sometimes you’re just unlucky and termites decide to strike without a leak or firewood involved at all!
How much is this gunna cost me?
That can only be determined by one of our technicians in-person after the assess the situation. Size of the home and severity of the infestation are a couple factors they need to consider.
How does the termite treatment barrier protect my home?
We use a combination of in-ground bait stations and chemical injection treatments to ensure that the termites don’t return. They will either meet the bait or the chemical or both so they won’t be able to reach your home again.
How did the termites infest my house if I’m on a slab?
Cracks in the slab. Termites are surprisingly good at finding these cracks and exploiting them in order to get into your home. Being on a slab really doesn’t help as much as you might think.
How long does a treatment take?
Anywhere from 1-5 hours. It really depends on how large the home is and how bad the infestation is.
